SUSTAINABLE AUDIOVISUAL COLLECTIONS THROUGH COLLABORATION

The Joint Technical Symposium (JTS) explores the technical issues affecting the long term survival and accessibility of audiovisual collections. JTS is an international symposium and brings together the world’s foremost research and thinking regarding the preservation and accessibility of moving image and recorded sound collections, from 19th century endeavours to the most recent digital technologies.

Thanks largely to the efforts of IASA member, George Boston (and Richard Ranft), IASA is happy to announce that electronic copies of all issues of IASA Journal and IASA Phonographic Bulletin are now available on the IASA website here:

For IASA members, all issues are available upon login to the IASA website. For non-members, issues older than five years are available for free download as PDFs.

Registration for the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives 2015 annual conference, "All for One -- One for All: Common Concerns -- Shared Solutions", is now open and available online at: http://2015.iasa-web.org

Our 46th annual conference is being hosted 27 September through 1 October by the Bibliothèque nationale de France, in the city of light, Paris, France.

The new ARSC Guide to Audio Preservation, edited by Sam Brylawski, Maya Lerman, Robin Pike, Kathlin Smith was released recently.

Commissioned for and sponsored by the National Recording Preservation Board of the Library of Congress, and co-published by the Association for Recorded Sound Collections, the Council on Library and Information Resources, and The Library of Congress.
