From 29 – 31 May, 2022, Eye Filmmuseum, the University of Amsterdam (UvA), Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA), and the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA) will present the 7th Eye International Conference on ‘Global Audiovisual Archiving: Exchange of Knowledge and Practices’.

PREMIS is a widely adopted metadata standard for digital preservation. It standardizes the documentation of limited technical, administrative, and rights information for the purpose of digital stewardship of information artifacts. This workshop introduces the standard, including the basic entities and the relationships between them. After this introduction, participants will have the opportunity to practice working with the larger theoretical concepts and to manipulate a basic PREMIS record serialized in XML.
