IASA DEI Statement

International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Statement

The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) is a professional association committed to the care, access, and long-term preservation of the world’s sound and moving image heritage. IASA is committed to fostering an organization that is inclusive in approach, where equal opportunities and equitable outcomes are accessible to all. We acknowledge that historical inequalities have impacted archives and bring this awareness to our work today.

As a global association, we value each of our colleagues and associates, who contribute to diversity in many forms, including gender identity, age, cultural background, ethnicity, socio-economic status, geographic location, physical ability, neurotype, sexual orientation, religion, language, and professional experience, among others. We aim to create a network where individuals and groups feel safe, respected, engaged, motivated, and appreciated for who they are and their contributions to the organization’s goals and vision.

IASA is committed to creating and nurturing an inclusive environment that guarantees equitable access to resources and opportunities for all. For IASA, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are at the core of who we are. These principles drive our innovation and connect us to the individuals and communities we serve. We embrace values that promote DEI, partnering with organizations and institutions that share our vision. We look beyond titles, labels, and preconceptions, seeking to recognize each individual's unique potential and perspectives.
