Past IASA President James McCarthy (1939 - 2021)

Former President of IASA, James McCarthy, has died. It is with sincere gratitude that we share news of his passing, for his service to the organization. We send our condolences to his family and loved ones. James served on the Executive Board as President from 1993-1996 and as Past President from 1996-1999.

I extend thanks to James for his service and commitment to IASA and its mission. Many who knew him and worked with him understood and felt his passion for recorded sound. He was a writer, a documentarian, and a music critic, most recently for Limelight Magazine. Please read more about James in their tribute: https://www.limelightmagazine.com.au/news/james-mccarthy-has-died/
