New Takes on Recorded Music
New Takes on Recorded Music, 2-Day Performance Studies Network Research Forum
Recorded music provides a ubiquitous medium for the artistic and commercial production and consumption of music. This Performance Studies Network research forum seeks to renew and nurture dialogue among a range of different disciplines and artistic fields within which practitioners and scholars continue to explore the identity, role, and function of recorded music. This research forum embraces a broad range of musical styles and genres, diverse formats and technological media through which music is experienced as performance, and varied approaches for scholarly and artistic engagement. This two-day event aims to stimulate critical discussion on existing and new trends in research, especially the intersection between creative practice and technology, as well as artistic and scientific inquiry.
