New Chair for Training and Education Committee of IASA

The Executive Board of the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA), wish to announce with pleasure, the appointment of Ms. Nadia Lai, as Chair of the Training and Education Committee of IASA.  She took over from Will Prentice of the British Library who has served the T and E Committee with diligence over the years.  Nadia will be supported by Pio Pellizzari who is the Vice- Chair and Gisa Jähnichen, the Secretary, as well as the entire Training and Education Committee of IASA.  The entire IASA Community welcomes Nadia to this position.

Nadia LaiThe Training and Education Committee seeks to create and support an audiovisual archival community who are knowledgeable, professional, and capable of caring for their collections effectively and acknowledged as such by their institutions or wider professional community.

Nadia Lai is currently the head of cataloguing and training for the Swiss National Sound Archive since September 2015.  She graduated in English Literature and Science of Religions from the University of Fribourg – Switzerland.  She later pursued a post-graduate certificate in Information and Documentation Science from the School of Business Administration of Geneva and University of Geneva.  Nadia has mainly worked in Libraries and in libraries networks.  Her professional career includes a three and a half year experience as cataloguing coordinator in the Library Network of Western Switzerland plus a four and half years’ experience as system librarian for the Alexandria Network and Swiss National Library.
