2026 IASA-BAAC Joint Conference

The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA), in partnership with the Baltic Audiovisual Archives Council (BAAC), will host the IASA–BAAC Joint Conference 2026 from 19–22 October 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania, at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania. Under the theme “Archives in Times of Peace and War: Safeguarding Audiovisual Memory, Identity, and Authenticity,” the conference will bring together audiovisual archivists, preservation specialists, researchers, and cultural heritage professionals from around the world to explore the critical role of archives in protecting memory, identity, and authenticity before, during, and after conflict. The event will provide a platform for knowledge exchange, professional collaboration, and discussions on sustainable approaches to preserving audiovisual heritage in rapidly changing social and political environments.
